April 2nd marked twenty years for me as a personal trainer. After two decades of guiding people towards a healthier life I have come to a realization of who the real enemy is in this fight.

I recall several times in the past twenty years feeling discouraged. “Why do people not follow what I ask them to do?” I would ask myself. “Am I not saying it in the way they can understand it? Do they need more tools? Do I need to spend every minute of everyday with them?” All of these thoughts crossed my mind.

So I dove head first into educating myself to help my clients. I wanted to learn as much as possible about nutrition, exercise and everything in between. Since 2003 I have read several books, sat through many certifications, listened to endless podcasts, took courses and so much more. All of this has helped tremendously and I will continue to do this because I love to learn. But knowledge is not the answer.

The enemy has always been and will continue to be the obstacles each person faces which is very different from person to person. Therefor one person could see results with one approach but it will not work with everyone. This applies to nutrition and exercise.

The best way to help my clients is to identify who their enemy is in this fight.

Everyone thinks they can identify this on their own. But there is a great saying that goes like this, “you don’t know what you don’t know.” In other words you have blindspots that you can’t see. These are areas of your life that are holding you back from making progress.

This is why the best athletes in the world higher a coach. The coach can see things that the athlete cannot see.

If you are stuck in your fitness journey or cannot seem to lose weight when you try chances are you are still fighting the same enemy but you have no clue what it is. Well, the enemy is YOU.

YOU are the problem. But like my friend Dave Ramsey told me in 2013 at his EntreLeadership Master Series that the good news is YOU are the problem because you can fix you.

Your problem is not the excuses you make it out to be. So stop making excuses. If you want to make progress and achieve real results hire me to help you. The first step to winning the fight with your enemy starts with admitting you need help fighting your enemy.

I have spent the past twenty years of my life helping people fight this fight and I am here to help YOU as well. Lets take down the enemy and get you feeling the best you have ever felt.
