Last week a thought came to me and I got really fired up about it. It was during my early workout and it was as if I saw the past twenty years of my life in an instant.
Twenty one years ago (to be exact) I was 242 pounds. I had terrible eating habits. I was not in good shape. I did not know what to do about it but I knew I didn’t want to stay in that kind of shape.
Fast forward to today. How did I get here?
That is a legit question. It seems like a blur but somehow I ended up here. If I can sum it up I would say that I made a choice to be healthy. I did not allow my current reality at the time to direct my future. This ultimately led to a lot of workouts and healthier eating habits over the next two decades of my life.
Here’s the point of it all. I want to remind you today that your health is your choice.
You are where you are because you have decided to be here. If you’re healthy and fit it’s because you’ve made choices to get here. You have overcome obstacles. You have not allowed circumstances to dictate your life. It probably hasn’t been easy and you have good days and bad days but you are winning in in your health.
If you’re not healthy and not happy with your fitness then you are making choices everyday to stay here. You have likely convinced yourself that you are where you are because that is just how it is. You may have come to this place in your life for a number of reasons but you’re stuck in some negative thoughts and false beliefs.
I know that there is a healthier version of you living deep inside of you that is waiting to come out. This healthy version does exist. Don’t allow yourself to think it doesn’t.
I understand that this is hard. I want to encourage you today to start. Just take one step and believe in yourself. This thought alone is the most important step. You have to convince you that it is possible. Then set some goals and find accountability.
Let me know if I can help. I am happy to jump on a call and hear your circumstances and help you create a plan. I understand that everyone has a different story. I love more than anything getting to know people and walking alongside them to guide them to where they want to go.
