Do you recall growing up and hearing from your parents to be mindful of the people you hang out with?

There is so much truth to that.

A few years ago my pastor said something that has stuck with me. “You are the average of your five closest friends”. This statement is actually applicable to just about every area of your life.

My question for you is who do you surround yourself with? If you are reading this then you have a goal to be healthy. Are you surrounding yourself with healthy people? Do you have positive influences in your life for this area?

One of the best ways to immediately become surrounded with healthy people is to join a gym. Especially a gym that builds community through classes. Also hiring a trainer is a great way to have a positive role model in your life when it comes to your health and fitness.

I make it a point to be the most positive influence in my clients life. I tell them that no one on the planet cares more about their health and fitness than me.

I want you to do something. Write down the five closest people in your life on a sheet of paper right now. Your best friends. Next to their names give them a score of one to ten on their health. One is very unhealthy with zero commitment to being healthy and ten is a very healthy role model. I want to make it clear that unhealthy people are not bad people. It just means they are not encouraging you towards a healthy life.

If you are that role model to others in your life keep it up. You are making a big difference in other peoples lives around you.
